BROWSER SETTINGS
Internet Explorer 6 or higher
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box appears.
- On the General tab, in the Home page text box, type: http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
- Click Apply, and then OK
Firefox - Windows
- From the Tools menu select Options. The Options dialog box appears.
- On the Main tab, in the Home Page text box, type: http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).

Click "OK."
Firefox - Mac
- From the menu bar at the top of your screen, click Firefox and select Preferences. The Options dialog box appears.
- On the General tab, in the Home Page text box, type: http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
Chrome

Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar. Mac users: If you don't see the wrench icon, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and click Chrome.

Select Options (Preferences on a Mac; Settings on Chrome OS).

Click the Basics tab.
- In the "Home Page" section, click on the "Open this Page" radio button and enter http://www.refdesk.com (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).

To see your homepage whenever you open Google Chrome, go to the "On startup" section and select "Open the home page."
Safari
- Open Safari and in Safari menu select Preferences.
- From the Safari menu select Preferences. The Preferences window appears.
- On the General tab, in the Home page text box, type http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
- Click the red Close button on the top left hand corner of the General tab.
Opera 8

Click the Tools menu.

Under tools, click Preferences.

In the window that pops up, make sure the General tab is selected.

In the section marked Home Page, enter http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).

Change the Startup dropdown to "Start with homepage".
